Fleet & Work Trips
Partnership with Enterprise Rent-A-Car allowed 100 vehicles to be removed from State fleet . Enterprise’s on-demand vehicles are newer, more efficient models, decreasing emissions. Five locations are currently providing 20 agencies with service so far.
Over 2,000 state employees have access to an electric bicycle (E-bike) rental in their fleet. E-bikes are now available at the following State agency locations:
- Utah State Capitol Building
- Multi-Agency State Office Building (MASOB)
- Department of Agriculture & Food
- Department of Health
- Governor’s Office of Energy Development
In fiscal year 2017 (FY 2017) Division of Fleet Operations replaced 873 older vehicles with hybrid, bi-fuel, and Tier 3 models.

Utah Learning Portal
The Utah Learning Portal is an online learning management system that eliminates miles driven by State employees to required work-related trainings. In fiscal year 2017, the State saved 96, 817 trips from being driven.
Every year State agencies participate in the TravelWise Clear the Air Challenge to help reduce emissions caused by unnecessary driving. But many of our agencies continue to participate with TravelWise year around! In fact, Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (DABC) has all employees at all all location participate, resulting in 1,283 saved miles in fiscal year 2017.
