Utah Department of Government Operations Executive Director Marvin Dodge has appointed Andrew Marr as the new division director for the Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM), following a nationwide search. Marr has been serving as interim division director of DFCM since October 2024.
Marr joined the State of Utah in 2011 as an apprentice maintenance specialist at DFCM, and by 2016 he was managing the Capitol Hill complex. He was selected to serve as assistant director of DFCM in 2021, before being named as interim director last year.
“DFCM plays an important role in Utah, with responsibility for the construction and maintenance of all state buildings, and much more,” said Director Dodge. “Andy has demonstrated strong leadership abilities over the past nine months as interim division director, and in prior roles. I’m confident he’ll do an excellent job of leading the division’s essential work that will leave a lasting impact for future generations.”
DFCM provides construction management, facility maintenance, and real estate services to state agencies and institutions of higher learning, with jurisdiction over nearly 4,300 buildings across the state. Currently, there are more than 230 DFCM employees statewide. dfcm.utah.gov
Marr moved to Utah from Seattle, WA in 2009 after completing a master’s degree in environmental science. Drawn by the state’s world-class ski resorts, he put down roots in Utah to build a family and career here.
