Yesterday, the Utah Division of Archives and Records Services hosted an “Archivist for a Day” event with the Utah Department of Government Operationsin recognition of #UtahArchivesMonth!
Archives loved giving their GovOps colleagues a behind-the-scenes look at the meaningful work that goes into preserving Utah’s history. Participants helped process records from the Tooele County Clerk—spanning 1860 to 1930—and documenting communities across the region, including several that are now ghost towns. This collection of more than 60 boxes offers a rare glimpse into early local government and everyday life in Utah’s past.
